lol Tabitha, I used to do fish inspection when I worked in Grimsby in the mid seventies. I love fish but in OZ it is very expensive :-(

Hi all~~
You surprise me about fish being expensive in Oz Allan, saying that it can be here too.
Lamb and Beef are both very expensive. Dau isn't fussed on either so we mostly have chicken and fish....except when she's eating out !

Hubby hates the smell of fresh fish! I have to have kitchen doors and windows wide open even in the winter.

Some cuts of meat are expensive (by our standards) but at the moment there is a major price war taking place between our two biggest Supermarket chains. Leg of lamb is about $10.99 a kilo but can drop down to $8.00 on special. steak is very much the same. Chicken is $4.00 a kilo

I used to love collecting wimberries (Bilberries) from the local moors so that my mother could make pies :-D

Lol I remember picking them at one time .. those berries, wimberries , one morning and still having some of in them in the car , mum and dad where visiting nan in the local hosp..I was reading a Beatles book (think it was 'A Hard Day's Night' ) and whilst pinching them got my book all messed up with the juices :(
