We once had a visitor who bought a Cadbury's raisin and nut chocolate bar about 3 days after she arrived here


she said it tasted completely different from the ones she bought in England


I have no idea whether that is true .................. but could believe that it is possible that Cadbury's made over here for North American tastes could be different from the same bars made in the UK


I cna't stand most US chocolate.


The chocolate covered ginger that I lurve is ade by a small local but very long time Vancovuer chocolatier. They celebrated 100 years in business last year.

I can't eat most of those goodies now anyway as I'm dairy intolerant!

I lived in Spain for 6 months on the Costa Del Sol at a place called Mojacar.
In 1986 it was.
No 3 sons father bought an old Corjiho?and we did it up.

Bet its all built up there now and more like benidorm than the sleepy village it was then.

This local company, Purdy's, makes wonderful chocolates


Last year they made a new choccie


dark or light covered caramel squares sprinkled on the surface with Himalayan pink salt.


I can't tell you what it tastes like from personal experience (caramel is made with butter)


BUT OH would die for it

I took 2 boxes to J&M in April

They are now planning on buying as many boxes of it as they can fit in their suitcases when going home


and I have orders to buy as much as we can carry when we go for Christmas!



I am told that it is the sweet salty taste that is to die for!

I have had cadburys chocolate in the U.S and it does'nt taste the same. I tried Hersheys but was'nt keen on that either

Yep, taught Biology for all of 2½ years, but nearly did archeology at uni ... would have done if the History master at school that I would have had in the 6th Form hadn't been a "touch the girls" type.


I've since realised I would have been safe ................... he preferred girls younger than 16, 13 was good.

Fans - Mojacar - in Almeria - in 1985/6 I was there too - you will not believe what they have done to it now - went there 5 years ago as my birthday treat - Southend springs to mind - only stayed 1 hour - and the coast line - unrecognizable - do not ever go back

Bet I could get crunchy bars there though next to the bisto gravy granules - when having my saveloy and pease pudding with curry sauce and other authentic Spanish fare
