OMG jax - sorry sweetie - my point was should a Classic British seaside resort be replicated on a Moorish village on top of a mountain in Spain - unchanged for centuries until the Brits came - actually a holiday firm built a holiday apart hotel complex a little way from village coz of hot winters - winds blow of Africa - and from then on
The Brits came in droves

I stayed one December freezing cold night on the way from Mojacar to Portugal for new year in a Granada hotel.
Snow on the ground there was as well.

Renes Report 29 Jul 2010 20:58

Yes Granada is cold in winter - don't forget they ski there from Dec to May - the longest ski season in Europe - in December you can sunbathe on Salobrena beach and swim in the morning - see the Sierras covered in snow in the distance as you sunbathe and then ski in the afternoon
I live 55 kms from Granada and 14 kms from the coast

SO WHAT IS PARKIN.?

Until I know what it is how will I know what I have missed????

Answer it meself I will.

Parkin or Perkin is a soft cake traditionally made of oatmeal and molasses,[1] which originated in Northern England. Often associated with Yorkshire, particularly the Leeds area,[2] its precise origins are unclear, and it is very widespread and popular in other areas, such as Lancashire. Parkin is generally moist and even sometimes sticky.

The name is sometimes given as perkin, and it is often pronounced as such in the Midlands, even when the normal spelling is retained. Both Parkin and Perkin are diminutives of Peter. They are also common English family names and were used in the past as pet forms of the Christian name "Peter".
