Nurse came this morning, and the drain was removed about 2 hours ago

and I can have a shower tomorrow

Hi Girls,

Great news Sylvia. No more having to put up with the drain, I bet you can't wait for your shower tomorow. I'm sure you feel so much better for having your hair done and once you have a shower you'll feel wonderful. I'm happy for you.

Mo, your three piece suite hasn't lasted very long has it? You would have thought it should have lasted much longer than two years. It just goes to show how the quality and craftsmanship have gone down over the years.
I hope that you'll have better luck with your new one.

Hope we'll hear from Jean very soon, as both you and Caz think that maybe there's something wrong with her computer or internet.

Ann sorry that your friend wasn't well enough to go out with you and T.
At least you had a few hours out in Gloucester and your lunch out.

Did you make your youngest Grandson's birthday card after all? I think that it's sometimes more difficult on knowing what to put on some cards than others, especially cards for the men. It helps if they like sport or have a hobby, which some men I make them for, don't.

I'll say goodnight now, so will speak to you tomorrow.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hello all, thought I would surprise you by saying hi from the Chatham Islands. I had only one page to read on this topic, but 12 on another! We will be heading home tomorrow, so at least not so much to read up when I get there.

My hour is now up

Huia.

Hi Huia I hope you enjoyed your holiday.
I got a letter off Jean this morning, it seems that her internet is down, hopefully she will be back with us as soon as possible so we don't have to worry any more.
Sallie I was just thinking the same about cards for men, I have to make one for my BiL soon and will have to come up with an idea. I find them so hard to do. We have a gale blowing here and it's getting worse, the leaves are blowing off the trees at an alarming rate, this morning I couldn't see the moors through the big sycamore at bottom of the street, now we can see right through it to all the green moors, winter is on it's way.
Sylvia I'm so pleased for you that the drain is out, you will feel much more comfortable now, I hope you heal up quickly.

Hello to everyone else, don't know whether I'm getting old or going daft but I can't remember names these days.

Love Caz xx

Oh thanks Caz, for letting us know about Jean losing her internet connection, at least we know that they are o.k now.
Like you, we have very high winds at the moment. Thank goodness I managed to a bit off the garden last week, I don't much fancy having to go there in this wind.
I hope you are feeling a little better now love. It's nice to see you posting,we do miss you when you are not around.

Hopefully Huia should be home safe and sound now. It was nice to see her posting from the Chatham Islands.
Lets hope that while you were away Huia, that your unwanted visitors didn't move back in. lol

Mmmmm theres a lovely scent coming across the net, oooh it must be our Sylvia.
I bet that shower or bath was sheer luxury Sylv's. Did you have a nice soak, or a quick drip dry shower.
I hope you are feeling o.k love.

Whats your weather doing at the moment Ann. Are you getting the high winds as well.
I bet T is a bit choked not being able to get a game of golf. He would lose his ball, and it could end up anywhere.
My son went for a round this morning, when it was raining hard, but as he says, it's only a drop of water.
Not for me it wouldn't be, I would soon be of home. But then golfers dont seem to worry do they.
It's like people who are keen on fishing, they go out in all weathers. But I'm damned if I would sit there for hours in the rain, and go home without catching a fish. I would be tempted to go the the local wet fish shop, and buy something, so that I could go home and brag about what I had caught. lol ;-) ;-) ;-)

Wheres our Sallie got to tonight. I dont remember her saying they were going out tonight, but then I may be wrong.
Hello Sallie, for when you do look in.

Bye for now girls, love to all. Mo xxx

Glad we have sorted that one out then, pleased to hear it is the computer that is poorly not Jean or Jeff. Thanks caz.
Good to see you chatting on here Caz, like old times. Luckily the men I make cards for have hobbies or interests. golf for OH and a friend, birds, dragons, old relics and guitars or football for the grandsons, cars for son or football or rugby. Walking and mountains for SiL.

Hello Huia, nice to see your note.

Goodness two years is a very short lifetime for a suite Mo. We have had our leather suite at least 8 years, can't remember the exact length of time.

Sallie, yes it was a shame we couldn't take our friend out but we did enjoy our trip to town.

I made three cards this afternoon, one for grandson and one for a friend's 2 year old (they are both on the blog) and a Christmas card.

ooh, I can chat to myself!!!

That is my MOT done for another year. Blood tests (liver, kidneys, diabetes, thyroid etc) all normal, no problems. BP OK, cholestrol, OK, Pulse OK.

Mo in Kent Report 6 Oct 2011 18:41

Thats good news Ann, so glad you are alive and well after all that lot. lol
The suite we had before this one, lasted us over 20 years, and that was a cream leather as well. But this one well I dont know what to say about it.
We had to wait nearly four months for it to be delivered in the first place, and that was after us having to keep chasing after it, they seemed to forget about us, once they had got their money.

Cant stop I am afraid as I need to get a bath before darts. Take care, love Mo xxx

Huia Report 6 Oct 2011 19:53

Hi girls. I arrived home safely yesterday after lunch. I spent a lot of time trying to put my photos on the computer but it said I would need to delete or compress a lot of stuff. It took hours and I find it has not put the first 28 photos on so will have to do that some time now I have deleted a few more things.

I will be going to pick up Chloe the cat just after lunch and I think I could use a decent shower first. The one at the hotel was so hard to regulate I didnt have a shower every day, just a lick and a promise at the hand basin.

Must get on with unpacking etc.

Huia.

Well, Sylvia is smelling sweet, not so sure about Huia!

Welcome back Huia :-)

Huia

Huia Report 7 Oct 2011 09:36

Of course I am smelling sweet, Ann, I have had a shower and washed my hair and got rid of all the peat bog from me. There are just my clothes to try to get clean.

I have started putting diary and photos on a new blog. You can access it through the other one, or go to http://www.ChathamIsland2011Sep29toOct6.blogspot.com I havent put many photos on yet. I need to try to downsize them as they take an age to load. I probably took about 500 photos, but deleted about 100 that were out of focus or duplicates or whatever, and I didnt take any one day, more on the reason for that later. I wont put all the photos on the blog, some are just of interest to me (photos from the air of my home town, and suchlike).

Chloe is home now. She was a good girl for her Auntie Judy (apart from breaking a garden ornament which Judy bought in our shop recently!)

I think I will be going to bed soon. I have been so very tired today. See you all later.

Huia.

Ah yes, that is better Huia, very sweet now after the shower. :-D :-D

Will have a look at the new blog later. Not put my holiday photos on my blog yet, got carried away making Christmas cards and forgot the photos. :-)
