Mo in Kent Report 15 Feb 2012 15:07

Hello my lovely friends.
Firstly I must apologise for not popping in to speak to you for a few days, but hey ho here I am, alive and kicking, woo hoo.

Linda, what good news about baby Sebastion. It's so comforting when they start to gain their birth weight back, and more.
The jaundice seems to affect a lot of new born babies doesn't it. All but my first child, were close to having to have a blood transfusion when they were born.
My fourth child, had one more point to go, and would definately have had to have one done. But luckily being under the lights altered that for her. My youngest son, was fine and was no where near the danger point. Mind you, he was born 7 years after his sister, and not as closely born as the others.
It's good to hear you have got the knitting needles out again, for little man's cardigans. Mmmmm keeping him nice and warm.

Well I do hope you are all keeping well.
This is a nuisance I can't remember what was said over the page. But please know that I am thinking of you all.
Oh and Joyce, thank you for the lovely card, I forgot to thank you before. See insanity is not far away lol
Love and best wishes to you all. Mo xxx

Hi girls, just popped on to say hello, no news but there again I never have with the boring life I lead. Spent most of the day in bed again with my foot up, it's hurting more so I wonder if I am using it too much when I walk. Talking about insanity I think that's the way I am heading at the moment with all that's wrong with me.
We had a new grab rail fitted in the bathroom this morning, making eight in all so wherever I am theres no chance of falling.
Hope everyones keeping ok, at least the weather is warming up a bit.

Love Caz xx

Good afternoon girls,

A cloudy dull day here in SE Derbyshire, although there have been times when the sun has tried to break through.

Mo, lovely to see you posting, I hope that things aren't too bad with you and are feelimg a little better. Hope all will go well for you on the 3rd, March.
How is your little granddaughter doing? I expect she's into everything now.lol!!

Caz, also nice to see you posting too. Don't worry about not having much to say, it's nice to hear how you are.
I popped up to town today for a few things, I wasn't there long, I spent longer in the Post Office than anywhere else as I had to post the anniversary cards to my brother and sister-in-law......hope they get them for Saturday, as it's on Sunday. I'm not holding my breath as in the past they have taken two weeks to get cards to where I sent them.lol!!

Jean hope you are okay. Have you tried using the candle for the dry embossing yet?

Ann, how are you today? Hope you are feeling a little less sore.
Hope daughter is getting along alright with another week of treatment.

Linda, are you still back and fore your daughter's. Hope the knitting is coming along okay. I started a small picture in cross stitch when our son Richard was two weeks old and never finished it, that will be thirty years in March.lol!!

Sylvia, hope you and OH are alright. Has OH received the results of his Colonoscopy yet? Hope there is no problem other than what they told him.

Joyce, hope you and Jan are both alright. Have you made any more cards over the last few days? Thank you for the peel offs you sent me, I received them yesterday.

Huia, hope you are alright and that all was well with Phil when you last visited him. Are you still busy in the Charity Shop?

Marie, hope things are improving for you and your family. Tinking of you all.

Well ladies I must go and get a few jobs done now, so will speak to you all soon.

Take care everyone.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Mo, sending you lots of hugs and positive thoughts for 3rd, March.

Hello all. Jean I took 15 cards to the CRUK charity shop yesterday. Not sure how much they needed them though as they did seem to have rather a lot. I think one of the craft magazines supports them. Other charity shops don't seem to sell hand made cards, they have racks of shop type cards. Still they will sell eventually.

Sallie

Sallie Report 16 Feb 2012 17:10

Hi Jean,

I still haven't tried the spray and slide....thinking now that if you found no difference I'm sure I won't.lol!! They make it look so easy on Cr---e and C---t that we think that we will have no problems using the embossing boards with the spray and slide. Just wish the embossing boards had better instructions on how to use them and maybe the C&C demonstraters were perhaps a little more honest on how difficult some crafters might find it.

You are doing well with your card making.....I have now started making the cards for all the March birthdays I have. Quite a few family members and very close friends have March birthdays. It's the men that I'm having a problem with at the minute, so will have to look in the Craft shops to see if they have something new that I can use.

I sometimes use photos for male cards Sallie, have taken quite a few of harbours, yachts etc. But also sometimes use scenes as well.

Just thought does A have any photos of steam trains that you could use?

Sallie

Sallie Report 16 Feb 2012 18:22

Ann, I haven't thought of using photos for mens cards. Not sure if Alun has any photos of steam trains that would be suitable to use,I'll have to have a look through them. I usually try and use something that the man I'm making it for is interested in, like a hobby, music, sport or cars etc. I have some thing I can use but I think I've used them for some of the men already. I'm sure I'll find something.lol!!
Thanks for your suggestion.

Mo in Kent Report 16 Feb 2012 18:50

Helloooo girls, it's me again lol.
Yes Jean, I know the 3rd of March IS a special day. And I know that things are going to be fine for me, as things are now starting to move. ( you will know what I mean by that lol)
Just think 56 years is a good long time isn't it. I thought us with 48 years, was quite good, but you are such a success both of you.

Caz love, I wish they would put grab rails all round your walls, to give you the extra support you need.
I am sorry to hear you are still getting so much pain, god bless you, take it real easy please.

Sallie, our baby Lilly is coming along lovely. She has started walking now, but only round the furniture. Our son said she does walk unaided, but when we were there on Tuesday the little monkey would not do it. So that night he videod her, and sent it to me via Face Book, and blow me down, the pickle was doing it alone. lol
Her other grandmother bought her a Winnie the Poo singing bear for her birthday, and when it plays one particular tune, she turns into a proper little head banger, throwing her head around in the air, it's so funny to watch. She doesn't do it to any other tunes it plays, just the one. Perhaps she will grow up into a proper pop singer.

Ann, I have found also that our local charity shops only sell what I class as bulk standard cards.
They are all so boring, not nearly as nice as the home made ones that you girls make.
I hope that the cream is helping with the ulcer, and that it's not to sore for you.
How is your daughter doing ?

No news from Marie, Sylvia, Huia, Joyce or our other friends. I hope they are all well, and will pop in and say hello to us.

I must go now girls, darts tonight.
Love and best wishes to you all. Mo xxx

Sallie Report 16 Feb 2012 19:09

Mo, I'm so pleased to see you post again tonight, I have been very concerned and worried about you lately. It's good to hear that you are going to play darts tonight. Hope you and your team will win.

Glad that Lilly is doing well, it sounds as though she's a joy to watch and listen to, bless her. Yes Mo, you could have a budding pop star there, let's hope that if she becomes a famous pop singer she'll make millions.lolol!!

Mo in Kent Report 17 Feb 2012 21:25

Hello girls,
Guess what Sallie, we had a good win last night. Unfortunately we won the threes, we were hoping to get the wooden spoon for being bottom of the league for the three's. lol

Oh what a day we have had. The key fob for our car decided not to work, so Roly took it to Fords to see what could be done about it. We had been told it was just the battery, and that it could be easily changed. But not our luck, they said we would have to have a complete new key at the cost £180.00. So as they didn't have one in stock, they were going to order one for us, to be fitted when the car has it's service on the 24th.
A real nuisance as the alarm kept going off, whenever it felt like it.
Our son was not impressed with this, and took it to a different Ford dealership, and hey presto, by changing the battery, the darn thing worked.
Son was not impressed with the original dealership, so back he went with Roly and has lodged a complaint.
His argument is that the person in the first instance should have known what was wrong, and that if the spare had been in stock, we would have paid out £180.00 for no reason.
We are now awaiting a response from management on Monday, coz guess what, no management were working today.
If Roly and my son have there way, we will get our annual service at a reduced price.... well heres hoping anyway.

I hope that all of you have not had such a trying time as we have, over this situation. And that everyone is well.
Take care my friends, love to you all. Mo xxx

Sallie

Sallie Report 18 Feb 2012 11:35

Mo, well done on your win on Thursday night, even though it was the three's so stopped you from getting the wooden spoon.lol!!!

It seems as though you can't trust some of these car dealerships, no matter what make of car it is. It's disgusting that they were more than happy to lie to Roly so that they could get £180 out of him when there was no need. Thank goodness they didn't have the key fob in stock and that your son had the sense not to take them at face value and took Roly to another Ford dealership that are more honest and trustworthy.
I'd be inclined not to go there for a service now as I just wouldn't trust them.

I think I read on one of the other threads that Ann is away for the weekend, hope her and T are having a good time.

Jean, I expect you are busy with your card making. Best thing too, especially if the weather is like it is here, we have a very cold wind with a bit but not much rain in it. Just hope it doesn't turn to snow.

I hope Huia is okay, I haven't seen her about for a good few days.

Caz, I hope the pain in your ankle has eased and that you have been able to get some much needed sleep.

Sorry post submitted before I had a chance to finish it off. Don't know what's up with this site sometimes. I had problems with it on Thursday, first I couldn't get onto it, then blank pages or the Error message.

Linda, hope your daughter has now settled into her new role of mum.
I know it took me a while to settle into it after I had Richard, but had no problem settling after I had Jennie.

Sylvia, Joyce and Marie hope all is well with you all.

Take care everyone.

Hello All,
Yes its me Marie all the way from OZ, you can probably hear me sloshing away in my Rubber boots.
It rained all day resterday and last night and it is overcast and spitting, we also had a heavy fog this morning.
I tried to get into the boards yesterday and also this morning but my internet server keeps dropping out it is such a nuisance.

Well Ladies things have changed for the better for our family .Kathleen's Insurance finally arrived and it was enough to get them back in the black. The same week Kathleen got a part time job at this stage only 1 day a week and they also managed to find a tenant for the Flat.
The relief is wonderful I feel like I have had tons lifted off my shoulders.

We all thanked God for his help.

Mo I noticed you have a special day on the 3rd I hope what ever it is goes well.
Jean it is a special day for you also I hope you have a lovely day.

Ann I hope your daughter's treatment is going well .

Must close

Well girls, isn't it good news for Marie. It's such a weight taken off your shoulders Marie.
It's good to hear from you as well Marie.
It's been such a long time since we have heard from Sylvia, Ann and Huia, as well as some of our other friends.
I am hoping and praying that things are well with them all.
Both Roly and myself seem to be in fashion at the moment, we have got stinking rotten colds.
It's hardly surprising really, the way our weather has been is it.
I don't know what the weather is like in other parts of the U.K, but it's very very cold here still. No snow thank god, and it's supposed to be warming up mid week, huh they are probably wrong, yet again lol.
Well my friends, I must go. Take care of yourselves, hope to hear from you soon.
Love and best wishes Mo xxx

Marie, good to hear from you and to know that things are a lot better now for you and your family.

Things not too bad here at the moment, thank you for asking.

Mo hope you and Rily soon get rid of your colds. Not sure if you had a darts match last night or not but if you did, hope your team won.Sorry Mo, can't remember if you told us that you were not going to play on a Monday night anymore....I've probably got wrong.lolol!!

Caz, sorry to hear that you are still suffering a lot of pain in your ankle. Just wish it will heal very soon for you.

Joyce, you have been quiet for a few days, hope all is well with you and Jan.

As Mo said, it's a god while since we heard from Sylvia, Huia and Ann.

Jean, how are you getting on with your card making? It isn't too long now before you go to Llandudno, I'm sure that both you and Jeff are looking forward to the holiday, especially as it is the first one since Jeff's illness last year.

Well girls I'm going to make a cup of tea now, although I don't like going into the kitchen as we think we have a mouse in there.although we haven't seen it. I put some cooked chicken into the spare oven to cool and when I went to get it out, something had been gnawing away at it, it had also gnawed away at the cable for the clock and oven lights, so that has to be renewed now.

Speak to you all soon.

Take care.

Hey, hang on, not that long. I was last on here on 16th and went away on 17th until yesterday so only 5 days. I had my laptop with me but as we were looking after the grandchildren and busy doing things with them didn't get much time to be on here.

Caz, sorry your leg is giving you pain, I hope it eases soon for you. Thanks for that Joyce.
