Hi Mo

and everyone

The weather has been so strange here that I don't see any sign of daffodils in the garden ......... usually have at least one in flower for March 1st.

Hello Sylvia. You and I are probably the only ones awake at the moment. I have just come back from visiting Phil and doing some shopping.

Mo, if I remember rightly, tomorrow is the day you go for your colonoscopy. Sending you lots of hugs and positive thoughts for tomorrow. Hope all goes well and the results will be good and nothing to worry about. Will be thinking about you.

How is your son? I hope that he is feeling better and that he will be able to get someone to drive the car back to Kent for him.

Mo in Kent Report 2 Mar 2012 22:27

Good evening girls,
Sallie, it's only an ultrasound scan tomorrow, not a colonoscopy thank goodness.
It may end up that I shall have to have one in the end though.
But thank you girls for your thoughts.

As far as I know, my son seems to be o.k. They had a chinese meal tonight, an eat as much as you like, and he went back six times for some different dishes.
I just hope he chose carefully, and didn't have the fatty foods.
Mind you, you dont often see overly large chinese people do you.

Sylvia, there are no signs of any daffodils in my garden either, but the bluebells are starting to come through lovely. I seem to have twice the amount I had last year. I love them, they are so pretty.
My neighbour has had loads of snow drops, well I think they are snow drops as I can only see them over the fence, and my eyes are not what they once were.

Huia, thank goodness the fleas and insects are now being eliminated. Do they do anything like the flea bonbs, to get rid of flies during the summer months.
We have an electric insectecuter that we use, and also Roly has bought a bat, that zaps flies as they fly past.
I think I need one as well, then it will look like we are having a game of tennis, as we are chasing the darned flies around the house. lol
We look like a right pair of idiots, looking for, and chasing after the blessed things. Ooh I do hate flies in the house.
I think I have OCD where they are concerned, and they must be got rid off, and all surfaces washed down when they are killed.

It's allright Ann, I am not really going doo lally lol How are you and T doing?

Going to go and get ready for my bed now girls, so I will say good night god bless, and have a good day to all the early risers down under.
Love to all. Mo xxx

Sorry Mo, got a bit mixed up. There seems to be so much going on, what with you, your son and Jennie, it's a case of who is having what.lol!!

Anyway good luck.

Ann, I've answered your post about Tirley on Shaun's thread. Sorry forgot to to do it on here.

Hi all

Good luck tomorrow, Mo

We have those electric bats ........... but we mainly use them for zapping mosquitoes!

Huia

Huia Report 3 Mar 2012 02:01

We have screens on all our windows, and one on the back porch. It is just the front door that doesnt have one so if it is left open we do sometimes get flies inside. Also if I leave the door at the top of the stairs down into the basement open. But not too badly plagued with insects, other than the fleas, and spiders that seem to find their way in somehow. Oh, and the occasional centipede, they seem to be able to squeeze through the slimmest of places. It doesnt do them any good being indoors though, they dehydrate.

I was intending to go to Hamilton today to see our gt grandson but there is extremely bad weather over NZ, several houses in Taranaki have lost their roofs. I will go tomorrow as the storm will have passed by then. It has not been too bad here, thank goodness, although there have been high winds in Auckland.

Well my friends, what a palaver.
I went for the scan, and when I got into the room, the first question I was asked was," do you still have your womb and ovaries" erm... yes.
She progressed the scan over the lower abdomen and pelvic area.
I asked her why she was scanning so low down, when the pains and problems were higher up, into the bowel, she replied that the doctor had asked for me to be checked over in this area, and that they would do further investigations later.
Oh boy, one fed up woman walked out from the hospital I can tell you.
It will be nice to know that there are not problems in other areas of my body, but the question still remains, why do I get these pains.

Huia, I hope that you missed the bad weather, and were able to get into Hamilton to see your Gr Grandson.
They grow so quickly, and missing each growth spurt, is upsetting.
Linda will probably agree,if she doesn't see her grandson on a regular basis.
I pity poor Sylvia not being able to see MJ very often, I do love to see our baby Lilly. I dont see our great grandaughter very often, but that is down to her mum being like the elusive pipernel, never at home when we call to visit.
How is your Phil doing?

Sylvia, we dont get mosquito's very often, just blue bottles and normal house fly's.
Roly does love his electronic bat, he's like a kid with a new toy when he gets it out.
During the winter months I hide it away, but as soon as he spots a fly, he goes and finds it. Ooooh such a big kid at heart he is. lol
His cousin had one first, and then he had to have one, huh boys and their toys.

Sallie, dont fret over the mix up over the scan. I am just relieved it was only a scan and not the colonoscopy. More so since I had my visit this morning, who knows they could have stuck the camera down/up the wrong end. I thought I was having one thing done, and had something totally different.
How is Debbie by the way? is she any better. I do hope so.

Cooee Ann,have you anything exciting planned for the weekend.
We are going out tonight for our anniversary meal. It will be nice not to have to cook for a change.lol

Bye for now my friends, love to you all. Mo xxx

Mo, I would think that sensibly they were checking for ovarian and uterine problems. When they have the all clear on that as I hope they do, they will check the bowel area. Much better for them to be thorough but I wonder why they couldn't check it all at once.

Have a lovely meal this evening..

Sally, yes I saw that you replied re Turley. I imagine that way back it would have been a lovely area it is so far out in the country. Actually it is a very desirable area to live now. Well it was, but now about half a mile down the road they are building a huge gas plant, despite the many and long protests against it.

Huia, hope the storm died down, very windy here today and we went down to the docks area so it was even worse down there but it is sunny and quite warm and I have just made up 5 hanging baskets to put in the greenhouse.

Jean, I must apologise for not wishing you both a very happy anniversary earlier.
I can guess what and where your Anniversary presents will come from.
It has to be a crafting shop, based somewhere in Wales. lol
I do hope you have enjoyed your day today my love. <3

Ann, the pains are in the upper bowel, and under my rib cage. Thats why I couldn't understand the questions about my womb and ovaries. lol
I am grateful that they are doing all the checks though. I would rather be safe than sorry.

We had a lovely meal tonight, but the service was appalling(sp). We couldn't believe how long they kept us waiting between courses. I dont think we will be returning there in a hurry.

Have a lovely evening one and all. Love Mo xxx

Hello girls,

Mo, do you know how long you have to wait to get the results of the scan? I suppose the doctor might have some idea of what the problem is, but it's a bit odd that they scanned in the area of your womb and ovaries. Let's hope that it won't take them too long to get it sorted.

Glad that you enjoyed your meal even though the service could have been better.

Hope son is feeling better now and that all will go well on Monday.

Alun's sister and brother-in-law were here today, so we went out for lunch to the place where Jennie and Michael had their wedding reception and evening do. As usual the food was very good, with a wide choice of food.
Alun's brother-in-law has got worse since we last seen just before Christmas, he easily get's very agitated now......it's sad to see him as he is, to how he used to be.

Jean, I'm sorry I didn't send you and Jeff an anniversary card....I'm afraid it's been one of those weeks, with Jennie being in hospital. At least she's home and although she's on crutches both her and Michael were able to join us for lunch out.

How is Debra getting on? Hope she's going along ok.

Ann, thanks for the info about Tirley..it's a shame about them building a gas plant there. It spoils the look of the countryside around it.

How is your daughter getting along, hope she's feeling less sore now.

Huia, hope you will manage to get into Hamilton to see your grtgrandson tomorrow.

Linda, how is your new grandson doing? I hope that the jaundice is clearing well now.

Caz, hope your ankle is a bit easier now. If I remember rightly, I'm sure that the plaster is due off very soon. Hope all goes well for you.

Hello to Sylvia and Joyce. Hope you are both alright.

Well girls I'm ready for a cuppa now, so will speak to you soon.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Huia Report 4 Mar 2012 04:25

Well it was a beautiful fine day today. I drove to Papakura, picked up the other gt grandmother (from our side of the family, there is one on the father's side) and drove down to Hamilton. Because we were busy chatting I missed the usual turn so had to pull over and stop to look at a map to see how to get there. I came to a roundabout and there was absolutely no sign of what the roads were called - very helpful (not). We got there, only about 5 km more travel than last time.

Young Marcus didnt seem too happy today. Every time I held him or looked at him he started crying. I feel like the wicked witch from the East. And on one occasion when he was lying down and crying I picked him up and after a couple of minutes I realised my top felt wet. He had been sick on me. Not too bad though. I had taken some spare tops with me but didnt bother to change.

I think I will wait until he is about 6 months old before I start asking for a 4 generation photo. Maybe by then he will be sitting, and hopefully happy.

Time to think about my dinner.

Huia.

Mo in Kent Report 4 Mar 2012 18:26

Oooh Huia, what a lovely photo of baby Marcus. He looks like he is a happy chappy, unlike when you visited, and he threw up over you.
Unfortunately babies seem to wait for the most unoppertune moments to do it dont they.
Many a time I have come home after visiting baby Lilly, and could smell vomit, only to be told by Roly, that she had thrown up down my back.

Sorry Sallie, I forgot to say that I have got to wait seven to ten working days for my results.
I had wondered about your brother in law, and how he was health wise. It's so hard on the sufferers partners, as Huia can bear witness to, bless her.
I hope Jennie is o.k love.

Well girls, we have had pouring rain all day, now the wind is extremely strong, and guess what, they say we are due for snow tomorrow here in Kent. Oooh how wonderful, NOT.

I will be back tomorrow to speak to you all, so take care. Love Mo xxx

Sallie Report 4 Mar 2012 19:15

Mo, Jennie is feeling better now thank you, apart from her knee which is still fairly painful and of course she's still on crutches. At least she looks a lot better and has started eating again.

Have you heard from your son today? Hope he's feeling better each day and that he has found someone that can drive his car back to Kent for him.

Hope that you and Roly have got rid of your heavy colds and are feeling a lot better

Brother-in-law has certainly got a lot worse over the last few months, I'm wondering how much longer sister-in-law will be able to cope with him......he has got to the stage, if anyone speaks to him he raises his voice and shakes his fist at them. He can only say a few words, the rest is just mumbo jumbo.

Well Mo, hope you won't get any snow tomorrow, that's the last thing you need.

It's also been pouring with rain here all day and it's with it.

Hope all the rest of our friends on here are all okay.

I'll speak to you all tomorrow.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hi all
xxx

we have "liquid sunshine" over here :-)

but it is also very warm .................. we call it "Pineapple Express" weather because it is coming straight at us from Hawaii!

Like Huia, we have screens on all opening windows, and most of our doors, especially the French windows onto the patio. So we get very few flies etc in the house.

we are having a battle with silverfish at the moment though ................ we had a new carpet a few years ago, and they started appearing about 6 weeks after that. So I think they came in with either the underlay or the carpet :-|

Like all old houses, we have lots of nooks and crannies where they can hide. We think we've got rid of them, then they pop up in another room.

OH is going to put down some stuff which is "guaranteed" to kill them. We shall see :-)

Atishooo, Atishoo god bless me.
Sorry to have been missing for a few days girls, but I can't seem to shake this blessed cold, and have not been feeling myself.
I got Vic to rub my chest but that didn't help either.
I know it's no good going to the doctor, as he will only tell me it's a virus, and to let my body get rid of it in it's own way.

Ah Sylvia, the dreaded silver fish. We had them in our old house, in the kitchen, and they were a right beast to get rid off.
I would scrub every cupboard and drawer, to try and get rid of them, but because they seem to like small damp corners, I was in fact helping them to breed.
I was so relieved when we moved here, not to have them anymore.

Today has been a lovely sunny day. Not very warm, but oh so nice to see the sun shining for a change.

Huia, hows the flea and rat situation now. I do hope the blighters have all evacuated your place. Nasty little bu**ers arn't they.

Our son is still feeling the after affects of his heart attack. He is waiting for his results to be sent down from Scotland, for his doctor to take a look at them.
He is due back at his doctors next Tuesday, and hopefully the new medication will bring his blood pressure down, as it was sky high the other day.

Take care everyone, love to you all. Mo xxx
