Ooops sorry Ann, my mistake, I had forgotten you were away. It shows how much we miss you when you are not around for a few days.
I am sorry to hear that your daughter is suffering the after affects from the radio therapy, god willing the symptoms will ease soon, bless her.
How's your rodent ulcer treatment going now? Is it still causing discomfort?

Sallie, yes love, we did have darts last night. We drew 3-3 but lost the pairs 3-0. We have still got quite a few games till the end of season, and then I will decide what I will do next season.
I hope you catch that flippin mickey soon. You dont want to have to share all your meals with it.
The little blighters can cause so many problems can't they. Especially if they have started chewing through cables, you will have to watch out for ALL your electric cables now.
Poor Huia suffered bad enough with her long tailed monsters didn't she.
You will have to get yourself some mouse traps, and bait them with peanut butter, not cheese as the old saying went.

My son has had to make an emergency dash up to Scotland tonight. His future wifes grandmother is at the end of her days. The doctor think she may pass away tonight or tomorrow at the latest, and S, wants to be able to say her goodbyes to her gran.
I hope and pray they have a safe journey, as my son has been at work all day.

I will say goodnight god bless you all. Love Mo xxx

Mo, sorry to hear that S's grandmother might pass away tonight. Hope they get there before she does. I'm sure your son will be shattered by the time they get to Scotland, such a long drive from
Kent. Hope they have a safe journey.

Shame that you lost the pairs, never mind, let's hope you'll be lucky next week.Fingers crossed for you and your team.

Jean, will have a look at your cards on Ann's blog later on. Yes on the instructions that came with my embossing board it said to use an antistatic tumble dryer cloth, but I can't find any in the shops that I've looked in so far. I would have thought that A--a would have had some, but couldn't find them there last Wednesday.

I have an appointment at the Doctors in the morning, for the same old problem, I'm afraid.lol!!

Speak to you all soon.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Ann, just in case you don't see it, I posted on the last page about your daughter.

How is the treatment for your rodent ulcers going? Hope that it is now starting to work and that you are not having any problems with it.

Thanks for your good wishes for our daughter. I am sure she will come through it OK she is very single minded.

The cream is continuing to make me sore but not a lot I can do and no way of knowing if it is working or not, only time will tell with that unfortunately.

Well girls my son must have been speeding last night, he made it up to Scotland by 1.30 a.m, and they left Kent at 7.00 p.m last night.
He is such a bad lad, but I can understand that they felt the need to get there quickly.
And he wonders why I worry, huh, kids.
S's Gran,is still lingering, bless her. S's sister is flying back up to Scotland tonight, she only came home on Sunday from there.
Such a worrying time for them all.

Sorry Jean, I missed your posting yesterday.
Yes our baby Lilly is a real cracker.
At the moment she has got a lovely bruise on her forehead. J+S, have got a stair gate at the bottom of the stairs, but Lilly thinks it's great to satnd on the bottom step, and hold onto the gate, forgetting that she has to step off the stair onto the floor. Her legs always give way, and down she goes. After a ittle grizzle, up she gets and does it again. lol
I hope you amd J are well. I bet you are looking forward to your holiday now.

Oh Sallie, is that old black dog back again. Give it a kick up the backside love. Stay as strong as you can, and dont let the blighter get you.

Ann, you and your daughter are in my thoughts and prayers. <3

Love to you all. Mo xxx

Huia

Huia Report 24 Feb 2012 05:56

Hello girls. I am still alive and kicking.

The weekend before last my son was up and the next morning he told me I had to do something about the rats. He could hear them scurrying about in the ceiling and downstairs all night. We bought some more poison, and I bought a bait station for some of it, and I set 5 traps. I caught 7 rats over the next week. Some of them were monsters.

Last Thursday afternoon (16th, 4pm our time, 3am yours) I was sitting quietly looking through some papers when I heard a click, wondered 'what was that) BOOOOMMMM! Lightning. A few hour later I tried the computer. I could see my photos and play solitaire but every time I tried to connect to the internet (I am on dial up) it told me error 633 (or some such) the modem is already in use or ........
I took it in to Papakura next day to get it looked at, unfortunately they could not repair it but I got another reconditioned one for only $210. I picked it up today. The trouble is that the print is very small, even though I have put it on the largest size, and the page is not the full width of the screen. I tried F11 but that hides the things at the top and bottom of the page and still doesnt give me full width. I am finding it a bit hard on the eyes.

On Tues I had been on a short trip to Hunua and when I got back there was a strong chemical smell when I got out to open the garage door. I parked in the garage and raised the bonnet so I could check the water when things had cooled but I quickly realised that that wasnt the problem. The top of the battery was very wet and there seemed to have been something white spraying around, so I phoned the local garage and took the wagon through to them. When he looked he agreed that the battery had 'had it'. The sides were bulging and the contents were bubbling out of the top. He hosed everything down after removing the battery to neutralize the acid then put a new battery in, and checked the alternator. It was overcharging, so I had to try to avoid using lights, wipers, air con until he could get a new alternator. He fitted it yesterday so that is ok. It left the bank balance looking a bit sick.

Now I just have to catch up on all my threads, and websites, and answer some emails.

Huia.

Huia

Huia Report 24 Feb 2012 06:05

OK, I have just looked at 'page' and clicked on 'zoom' and things now fill the width of the screen. I thought it was just to enlarge the print, which it does as well.

Not straining my eyes so much now.

Huia.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 24 Feb 2012 09:41

Huia glad you are OK anyway. The print went very small on GR mafter the latest 'improvements' and if I enlarge the print I lose the right hand edhe of the page. So you are not alone. I am pleased youa re OK anyway we were concerned about where you were. Expensive time for you with the pc and the car. Glad you caught the rats. :-D

Hello girls,

I haven't been on here for a couple of days as we've spent some time at two hospitals with Jennie, first at the hospital in the town where they found out that the reason for her swollen left ankle and her right
swollen knee was that she had pulled the ligaments in them.
Then ysterday, it was at the Nottingham hospital which she is under for her Crohn's, as she is suffering from a 'flare up'. But they were satisfied that it was just a minor one so it should sort itself out without having antibiotics and having to staying there, so needless to say that we and especially Jennie were plesed abut that.

Huia, pleased to see you back, we were all concerned about you as we hadn't heard from you for a while.

Also pleased that you have finally caught the rats, I'm sure that you feel so much happier about it and also about the car.

Ann, did you say you were going to the Lake District quite soon? If you are hope you and T will have a good time there,

Hope daughter is going on okay after finishing her treatment. Thinking about her.

Mo, hope that both you and Roly will feel a lot better soon. Also hope goes well for you on 3rd March. Thinking about you and hope all goes well with good results.

Yes Mo, the "Old Black Dog is back, I'm afraid. Doctor has put me on some new medication, which I didn't really want and he didn't want to do either, but after speaking to him he felt that I needed something hopefully not for too long. I'm also going to see the Counsellor that I seen the last time.....I have an appointment with her on 7th March.

Have you heard anymore about S's grandmother? As you said, she's lingering, bless her.

Jean, hope things are alright with you, Jeff and Debra.

Hello to Sylvia, Caz and Joyce, hope you are all okay.

Speak to you all soon.

Good evening girls.
S lost her grandmother on Thursday morning, she waited till she was alone with her husband to leave this world.

Yesterday we had a phone call from S, to say that our son has had a heart attack up in Scotland.
They say he has an enlarged heart, and needs two weeks bed rest, and a follow up appointment with a specialist.
I dare say all the worry and travel hasn't helped the situation. After all he worked a full day, and then spent the evening driving.
Oh boy what a worry all this is, and being so far away doesn't help us. But S is very good, and keeps us updated a couple of times a day.

It's good to hear from you Huia. Those dratted rats of yours, are a real pain in the backside arn't they love.
They must all enjoy living at your place, because they seem to return to visit you each year, dont they. Nasty little blighters, thank goodness your son was around to hear them with their hobnails boots on,running round in your attic, or they would have been asking for bed and breakfast.lol

Thank you for the card Jean..... But it's not my birthday till October.. I bet you have got confused with my wedding anniversary, that falls on the 29th of this month. Bless you my darling, thank you for the kind thoughts.

Love and best wishes to you all. Mo xxx

Also sorry to hear about S's grandmother, it was nice that she had a peaceful end with just her husband there.

No matter how old our children are, we still worry about them.

If you can Mo, could you let us know how he is, please.

Will be thinking about you all, and hope and pray that the news will get better each day.

Hope all is well with you, Jeff and Debra.

Huia. It must be a real pain having to continusly try to get rid of those nasty Rats,Is there a council dump some where near you? that may be where they are coming from.
How is your grand son he will be growing all the time, you will notice it if you only see him infrequently.
I hope all the tremors in NZ have finished it must be a worry for all.
We are still having a lot of rain on the East Coast of Oz it is raining in Bathurst to-day and has cooled down from Yesterday.

I see Sylvia has not been in to-day I hope she is well
Hello SylviaI hope you are in Sunshine we havent seen much of it this Summer.

Love and best wishes Health and Happiness to all

Huia Report 26 Feb 2012 08:19

Marie, no council dumps near us. We are in the country. The rats come from the bush or the farmland. The Parks people have a programme putting poison baits out in the bush for rats and your Aussie furry friends, so I know that the rats do live in the bush. It will be an ongoing problem for me as we will probably never be able to exterminate them all.

I had been thinking early in the week of going to see my gt grandson today but after the busy week I decided I was too weary to drive that far. Maybe next weekend.

I have finally managed to download some photos from my camera onto the 'new' computer. I was getting so frustrated as nothing seemed to work, but suddenly it came right. I still havent checked out my scanners. I am almost afraid to in case they were also zapped by the lightning.

I am off to bed soon, so have a nice day you up-toppers, and a nice evening to the Ozzies.

Huia.

Thinking about him, you, Roly and the family, and sending you all lots of positive thoughts.

Marie, lovely to hear from you, glad to hear that things with you and your family are better. Families are such a worry, aren't they?

Thank you, I'm sure that things will get right again as they have done in the past. After the last time, I thought that was the end of the old Black Dog, I think I might have expected too much. I go to see the Cousellor on the 7th March, the same one as I had last time, so I'm pleased about that.

Huia, glad to hear that you have got rid of your unwelcome visitors at last. Let's hope they stay away from now on.

How are things with Phil? Hope things were not too bad with him the last time you visited him.

I must go and get a couple of jobs done now, so might look in again later.

Take care everyone.

Marie, nice to see you. Daughter is in the Lake District now recuperating now that she has finished the radio therapy. She is still tired and was warned that would last for another 10-14 days but she is happy to have finished it.

I have another 7 days of using the aldera ointment. Can't reallys ee if it has solved the problem yet, if it hasn't the ulcers will be removed in June.

Mo, hope the news from your son is positive and that he is improving.

Sallie, just 'spoken' to you on the Wales thread. Hope you get all your jobs done and the day passes quickly for you. Sometimes we long for a day on our own and then when we get one it does drag :-D We are never satidfied.

Hello my friends,
Many thanks for your kind thoughts.
My son has now been released from hospital, with medication to help him.
He has to go back on Tuesday for a scan of his heart, and see the cardiologist.
They say it is Peri Cardi-itus (sp).... inflamation to the sac that surrounds the heart.
God willing, with proper treatment, and extra care on his side, he will make a good recovery.

Ann, what a pity the Aldera ointment is not working. It has made things very uncomfortable for you hasn't it.
It's good to hear that your daughter is having a nice break away, to recouperate. Lets hope the weather forecasters are correct, and that she gets some nice weather whilst she is up there.

Sallie, it's heartening to read that you are seeing the same therapist as last time. At least she knows your history, and can catch up on things where she left off the last time.
Stay strong honey, and dont let the Bu**er beat you.

Hi Marie and Huia. Good to hear all your news. Sylvia has been missing for some time now, I do hope she is well.

Tea time now, so I will wish you all, a good evening, and god willing will speak to you tomorrow.
Love and hugs, Mo xxx

Good morning girls,

Mo, good to know that your son is out of hospital, even though he has to go back for a scan to his heart on Tuesday. Hope that with the right care by the doctors and by him looking after himself and doing what the doctors tell him, he'll make a very good recovery. Wishing him all the best for tomorrow, I will be thinking about him, you and the family.

I'm really pleased to be seeing Gourmail again, just hope that this time I will be able to beat the old Black Dog altogether.

Ann, I've seen your message on the Wales thread, thank you for letting me know.

Pleased to hear that your daughter is having a holiday up in the Lake District, it will do her good now she's finished her treatment.

Jennie's right knee got more swollen over the weekend, we took her to hospital last night where they found out that her temperature was quite high. After draining the fluid off her knee, blood tests and an Xray, they now think that her knee problem is linked to her Crohn's Disease. The doctors that are in the team of the Consultant she is under at the hospital decided to keep her in. So we have to wait to see what they will say today. Oh well, can't say life is boring.lolol!!

Hope everyone else is alright, might look in again later on.

Take care all.
