Thanks Jood, thanks Tony. Now we just have to sit back and wait for Saturday. A genealogical question. .... I am chasing a great uncle, I have him placed in Adelaide in about 1896. Then we lose track of him. I found a death for a person of the same name in NSW - the death certificate says that he was a station hand at a property near Booligal, NSW - not all that far away from SA. No details of his past life - not even his age - were known by the informant on the death certificate. If it is him, he would have been 66 when he died from a heart attack which is feasible. Now - can anyone suggest how I might be able to fill in those missing years - when were the census records taken in SA and NSW. Would there be electoral rolls for that period in those states. Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted. Have a good evening all Anna

Was just reading on another thread. Gene Pitney died in Wales this morning. ( Cardiff ) I have every song/cd. available of his that came out, and he was my all time favourite singer, and went to many of his concerts in Oz. He was a great singer and a real gentleman, and i play his songs on my puter while i am on GR. Such a shame......God bless. Tony Oz.

Watchit JulieCat.....................or I'll fizz all over you. lol!!! Question.........does anyone know what info can be found on an English marriage cert around 1836? I've found my GGG Grandparents marriage on British origins, and am hoping it might give the full name of brides parents. Jood, hope you've got the winning numbers Hon. The sooner I have money, the sooner I can move back to Melbourne. Well Victoria, still got dreams of my little cottage in the hinterlands somewhere along the Great Ocean Rd.

Rebs;; Certs didnt start till 1837 so you would need Parish records;; Your best bet would be to ask on tips board if anyone has disc of them for the area you want, give as much info as you can, and Im sure you will get help; Babs

Thanks Babs. 1 year too early then. I doubt if parish records gave the names of parents. I'm staying clear of the boards apart from this thread for the moment so I guess it will have to wait. :-((

Rebs. All the marriage certs i have from 1840 to 1864 ( my G, Grandparents ) only show Fathers name and Surname......of both couple........ I might be wrong...but dont think they mention mum's name mate on marriage cert. before then ( unless she was a Witness) I may be wrong ( and stand corrected ) but i have 12 marriage certs 1840 to 1864 and no mention of Mum's name. Hi Wafflers Have developed a bugger of a case of sciatica. Pain down back of left leg. It happens every now & then and usually goes away in a few days but it makes sitting at the puta a pain. But the way it (puta) has been playing up today I could do with a while away from it anyway. Devily....glad to hear you have been able to access your hard drive. It would be heart breaking to loose all that work. Mark wants to know how old your puta is? (nosey little bugger) Hi Meercat.......which side of the planet do you hale from? A friendly wave to you. Heading off to bed shortly with a hot wheat bag on my back. Not that I need too much heat........the temp & humidity have been awful today. Hugs and a ~~~wave to everyone. love Trifley Queen of the Nile (As she limps off draging one leg)
