Morning Jood!!! Girl brought me in a coffee before she left for uni this morning so I stayed in bed. She was also wearing my one and only fleecy jacket, so I assume the coffee was considered a fair swap. lol!! Gosh it's chilly here this morning. All the rain over the last couple of days has really cooled things off. Might find myself investing in a pair of fluffy slippers this year, with all the polished floors I have. No carpets to keep the tootsies warm. :-(( Lara, tried calling you twice yesterday, but the line was busy. You were either yakking or on the net. *predictable* thought for the day...........'If you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning.' Have a great day everyone. love Rebs xxx

Hi all Shazz, I came up the mountain sideways - well, you know what I mean - the road that goes from Windsor up to Springwood, lots of hairpin bends, but I am used to them now. So what DID you have for dinner ??? Let me know what Canberra is like weatherwise Shazz, as I am going down in 2 weeks - tho I guess I could ask Vonny & JA as well. I'm off to Bundanoon tomorrow morning for the Highland festival. Went last year and darn near froze, so talking lots of scarves, jackets, beanies, gloves (one of each at least !) Cold in the house today but lovely and sunshiney outside. I have actually been to excercise class again this morning (twice in two weeks) - How about that ................... don't get excited, it was only a Heart Moves class which is put on by the Heart Foundation. Me ticker is fine, but I need to do a low impact class to get fit to do proper excercise hahaha. Any excercise is better than none at all. Jude *walks off whistling cept she can't whistle .... to do some h*******k

I agree with you Tony - about Leyton Spewitt (even wife and baby too) Safer to get a pie - make sure you have your VB tablet with it. You are soooooooo lucky to find someone in the family tree - I have not had one bite - I havent put my tree on GR, as Laurie did it, and she'd tell me if someone popped out. Only time I got excited, and wrote to the person, it turned out to be Laurie anyway - cheeeeeeeeeeee pmsl Off in the afternoon sun to enjoy Jood

Lol Rudes.........or should that be Bugs. hehe!!! Actually I'm thinking of taking a leaf out of Barbs book and removing the labels from all the tinned food in the pantry. That might discourage my other half from buying tins of stuff we never eat. eg cream of celery soup and sauerkraut. It thinks it's getting a bargain when he buys them on special. ?????

That cracked me up , Bugs! cuwl............... You guys must be on *uk site. I'm on * c o m and no TV program. That's good as one less thing to use up my allowance on!!! Bring PLENTY of cold weather gear to Canberra Shazz, it's freezing. Had the fire on all night - unheard of for April. I'm feeling peeved. Autumn is one of the best times in Canberra and so far we have only had a few weeks!! First it was too hot, now too cold. Hmmmmm, beginning to sound like Goldilocks. Better go and shop. More like Mother Hubbard's cupboard at the moment as I wasn't feeling well enough to shop yesterday. Youngest son's B'day tonight. All going to his sister's for Pizza and Profiteroles. :) See you later ~~~~~~~~ Little Red Riding Hood.

Afternoon All, hope your day has been great so far. As we were still waiting for Telstra to contact us, I decided to do something naughty and phoned a client who is a Telstra Tech (shouldn't really sneak in the backdoor like that!). Anyway, the Tech is on his way, so hopefully by the time I get home we will be online. Very tired today. Friends came over last night, but bless their little cotton socks, 'cause they brought fish & chips and scallops and prawns and oysters and wine and beer with them! Buggar the diet, it starts next week!!!! Anyway, threw friends out some time after midnight and what with all that packing and unpacking, I'm completely knackered now and feel like I need a nanna nap. Pleased to hear about your GR success, Tony. I've had quite a few connections in the last couple of years. Sorry you weren't so successful in the 'can' department, lol, but hey, it could have been heaps worse! Shazz, let you know next time you're coming to Mudgee, so we can meet. You probably went to McDonald's Bakery in Market Street which is in the same street where I work. Off to Sydney tomorrow and not back until Monday. I would really have loved to stay at home, but we have commitments which we can't get out of. Anyway, must get back to office work. Seeya, Lew Lew

Hi Lew No it wasnt Macdonalds Bakery it was the street behind Market St, we drove up Market st past the Anglican church and turn right at the roundabout and then left into either Mortimer or Gladstone Street it has a coffee shop inside anyway it was anice shop, we went for drive into Gulgong and Id heard an ad for Macdonlds cake shop but I thought they said Gulgong, Blah what a horrible cake shop that was, I suppose you go straight down the Xpressway into town and dont come anywhere near Mount Annan what a shame you could have called in for coffee or tea anyway have a good time in town, its funny the people you meet at funerals isnt it, I met a guy by the name of John Brown who is married to Ken Sutcliffes sister there I did mention your name to him and he knew of you and your husband and even knew you were building a house and also the name of the builder just as well you dont get up to any hanky panky in places like that isnt it, we even ran into our neighbour from 6 houses up from us nearly died when we saw them walking down the street, they were looking after their daughters shop while she was over in Fiji visiting her sister, she owns a gift shop in Mudgee, a Leadlight and jewely shop you probably know the one Im talking about its on the way out of town towards Gulgong, hope all the tradesmen have finished everything that needsto be done in the house and you can finally get to settling down Tony you are going to have to start labelling those tins with a texture pen after Barb whips the labels off that way you will at least know what you are getting haha just read what your having for lunch baby carrots hehe Oh Shucks you beat me to it shows that good minds thinks alike the texta I mean Hi Vonny OH changed his mind not coming to Canberra now talk about womens perogative hes worse than me, actually his friend called to say that he would be calling in for a few hrs so he told them we would be home , plent y of other days to visit, only coming down to spend a few hrs at War memorial, not that we were actually visiting anyone in particular so will make it another day Well musst away for while to feed the man, will catch you all later tonight Cheers Shazz

Lewella Report 7 Apr 2006 10:11

Hi Shazz, now I know where you're talking about. It's Peters Bakery near Furniture One and opposite the Bi-Lo carpark. Yes, Mudgee is a very small town and everybody knows everyone elses business!! The glass place you're talking about is Blest Creations and I'm sure that Colleen who owns it is the niece of someone on this thread - maybe Laurie! I don't know Ken Sutcliffe well, but I know his brother Barry and Barry's wife Debbie quite well. Telstra finally fixed the broadband problem, but now I can't get online, but Terry can (I'm using his computer). Mine still thinks it should be networked to his and doesn't want to talk to the new connection, so now I'll have to phone Computer Boy to come and fix it!!!! Off to Sydney in the morning, so will chat with you all when I get home on Monday (or late Saturday night if we win the big one). Tony, can you email me your phone number in case I need to ring you from Sydney to see where we're going to meet up to celebrate. Off the bed for an early night (I've had it!!) Lew Lew xxx

Morning Wattlers. I did a Tony – (or rather a Barb) last night …………. Started like this. In 2004 and 2005 I won a lucky seat prize in the travel bus I was in( 2 x $10 vouchers), to be used at the local rissole (RSL) club, Put them in a safe place (that means, lost) – and only found them the other day – expired. I rang the club up with a sob story, and they said bring them down and we will honour them. Having to go down the mountain on an appt, I called into the club and they gave me another month on each voucher. So Jood decides to have tea there and use one of the vouchers. She plays the pokies for a while, has dinner, goes back to recoup some of her losses. Place is starting to get busy – raffles and members card draws. (Never been to one before) ………….. about half an hour later my name is called out – I present myself, and they give me a number (49) – and I’m told they will spin the wheel. I go back and resume my seat, and lo and behold 49 is called out. Back I go, and I receive a little packet with 1 x $100 and 2 x $50 vouchers for petrol at any Caltex Garage !!!!!!!!! $200 - wooohoooooooo Wow! By this time Im losing a bit of pokie money, that’s no good, so I stay a little longer and eventually I cover all I’ve paid out with a spare $14.00 to boot. I only hope the good luck stays around tonight. I hope you guys will check the numbers, as I don’t even know what Channel its on. Jood
