Huia Report 24 Apr 2011 07:46

Please Joyce, dont worry so much, it cant be doing you any good. I know it is easy to say, but try to relax. I realised years ago that it wasnt going to do anybody any good if I worried about things, and it certainly wouldnt do my own health any good. I wish I could come over there to try to calm you down.

Huia.

I am sorry that you have to face this ordeal of the inquest.
I pray that it will help you to understand why she died and that you can put that worry behind you .
I do hope you will have family around you to help on Wednesday

Dutch what are you like, poor Sallie missing out on your card. I will be thinking of you on Wednesday, but don't worry about it, Huia is right and you can't alter anything by worrying.
I have been blaming the chemo for feeling so ill these last few weeks, I decided to look at the information leaflet from some anti depressants I got about a month ago. Blow me but the way I feel is all side effects from the anti depressants, even the hair loss, I'm going to have to ring my doctor and tell her I don't want them any more. I thought it was strange because I have never had any side effects from any of the chemo I have had in the past.

Love Caz xx

AnninGlos Report 24 Apr 2011 15:12

In a way that is a relief Caz isn't it because maybe you can go without the anti ds but not the chemo. Hope when you stop taking them you soon feel better.

Sallie

Sallie Report 24 Apr 2011 15:27

Caz, I suppose chemo is the first thing we all think is causing the side effects......but as you've said, other medications can also cause some nasty side effects too. I hope the doctor will take you off them and that you will feel a lot better very soon.

The anti depressants I'm on can cause quite a few effects......weight gain or loss is just two of them...of course I suffer from the weight gain, whereas my cousin lost a lot of weight while he was on them. But they can cause a lot more unpleasant side effects than that. Still I'm slowly coming off them, so hope that I can manage without them and won't have to go back on them again.

Joyce, don't worry about the Easter card. I thought that it was strange that it hadn't arrived after you told me that you had sent me one, last week.

I hope you and Jan enjoyed your Easter Breakfast at his mum's. Were all the family there too?

Jennie and Michael came as usual for their Sunday dinner, we had a fresh big chicken today, which was very nice. Both Jennie and I love a roast dinner, it's our favourite meal. Alun and Michael are not bothered what they have as long as they have food.lol!!

I'll speak to you all later.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Good evening girls.
This is just a quickie to let you know that I am thinking of you all.

Caz and Joyce, you will both be in my thoughts and prayers on Wednesday.
Caz for a good result, at the hospital, and that the bu**er has left you, fit and well after what have undergone recently. And that they can sort out your anti-depressant for one that suits you better.
And Joyce, that you may ease your mind, about your daughter. You know she would not want you to keep fretting love. But at least if you know the cause, you will be able to let her rest in peace honey.

Night Night all. Love to you all. Mo xxx

Hello girls.

Jean, have you had your results of your scan yet love. I hope you and J have had a lovely weekend, with lots of chocolate eggs. I never even got one, boo hoo.

I have been a busy bee, and have now got all my bedding plants put in.
They look lovely, all I am hoping now is that we don't get really cold weather to kill them off.

Whilst I was doing the planting, I noticed a little red beetle, on a plant in one of my pots.
Now I had no idea what was in the pot, as I thought that the snow had killed off whatever had been in it.
On looking at the beetle, I suddenly realised what was growing therein.
It was a pot of Oriental Lilies, that I really thought I had thrown away last year.
I am now watching the plant, with beady eyes, as this beetle is not going to eat my Lilies again this year.

My thoughts and prayers for Caz and Joyce for tomorrow xxx
May the lord be with you both, and give you the strength that you need to get through the day.

Take care my friends. Love Mo xxx

Jean, I am not supposed to know of our trip to Blackpool, but we are going up on Monday the 24th,and back on the Friday the same week.
So it looks like our paths will cross once again. It's not even as though I can change the dates,as the children are paying for it for my 65th birthday
surprise. Surprise...... Roly let the cat out of the bag.
I love to go up there when the lights are on, I suppose it's because I am a child at heart, and get quite excited at the prospect of either walking through them, or getting on an open top tram to enjoy them.

Hi All,

It's been chilly and a bit cloudy here today, so lets hope it will get brighter before too long.

Jean, so pleased you received my Easter card...I haven't got yours yet, but we all know what the postal service is like in the UK.lol!!

Mo, gald that you managed to get all your bedding plants in, I'm sure your garden looks a treat now.

Did your team win at darts last night? I hope you did.

Alun finished work early today, so we went to the Range and Hobbycraft. I couldn't get what I was looking for so only bought a couple of bits......Alun spent more than I did today, on stuff for his model railway layout... for a change.lol!!

Caz, I'll be thinking about you tomorrow, hope the results will be good.
Sending hugs and lots of positive thoughts.

Joyce, I'll also be thinking about you tomorrow. Please try and keep calm and not get too upset, it will only make you feel worse than you feel now.
Your daughter wouldn't want that Joyce...... and making yourself ill over what the verdict will be, won't change things, unfortunately.
Sending you hugs and lots of positive thoughts, too.

Thinking of Huia, Marie, Sylvia, Ann and Tess. Hope all is well with you all and your families.

Speak to you all tomorrow.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Huia Report 26 Apr 2011 21:28

I tried to come on here last night (my time) but kept getting an error on page message. I tried other threads but the same thing happened. I am glad you have not all had heart attacks from the excess of chocolate that you have had over easter. It was a couple of days with this thread not moving.

I visited Phil yesterday. He was looking at me sometimes, he even answered one of my questions. I called the resident cat (Dolly) over to stroke her and she jumped up onto the table that we were sitting by. There was an empty basket on the table and she climbed into it. It was a tight fit, but she seemed happy in it so I dashed outside for my camera and took a lot of photos. I tried to print a page of them last night but a couple of colours of ink are low so it wouldnt print.

I had also taken some photos of a waterfall in the Hunua Gorge in full spate from all the rain we had the previous day and then went to the Hunua Falls and took some photos of it in full spate, with a rainbow in the spray, as the sun had come out. The Hunua Falls are very accessible. Even people in wheelchairs can get to a position from the nearby carpark to see them. They are very popular in the summer, lots of people come to picnic and to swim in the large pool at the bottom of the falls.

Hi girls, where is everyone? Just a quicky to share my good news, I went to see cancer doc this morning and the cancer count in my blood is very low, he was pleased with it but not as much as me, lol. He also told me of the many different scans I've had and said my back was in a very bad state and he doesn't know how I am still walking. I could have told him that as I have to live with it, thank the Lord for morphine.
Huia it sounds idyllic where you live, wish I could see the falls and the countryside round them.

Sallie Report 27 Apr 2011 19:41

Hello ladies,

It's very quiet on here again today. Hope you are all okay.

Caz, pleased to hear that the cancer cells in your blood are down, but sorry to hear about the problems with your back. I've been thinking about you all day, wondering how things are.

Joyce. I know you won't be on here for a few days, but hope that you are alright and haven't got yourself in too much of a state about the verdict of the Coroners court. I'm thinking about you.

Huia, goood to hear that Phil was actually looking at you and also answered one of the questions that you asked him.

Hunua Gorge sounds a wonderful place to take photographs. I'm sure that the photos you took of Hunua Falls will be lovely. I would love to see them sometime, please. If that's OK with you?

As usual for a Wednesday, I've been to do the weekly shopping. A--a's had lots of union jack bunting right through through the middle of the store.....not sure if they are opening later on Friday, out of curiosity I meant to check, but forgot about it while I was there.lol!!

I'll probably watch some of the wedding as Alun is in work until 12.30pm.
Then both him and Michael are going to our friends to help put up some wardrobes and move the old ones out.

I'll speak to you all later.

Love and best wishes to everyone. Sallie.xxx

Hoping it stays dry for the wedding, so many will be disappointed if the weather changes.

ubby will be working all over the bank holiday weekend, so I must get down to some decorating as I will be on my own from noon til nearly midnight.

Good evening girls.
Caz, I am so pleased the Blood results were good, it's such good news, I am over the moon for you love.
I just wish there was something they could do for your back problems though, but as you say, " Thank god for the Morphine Patches".
Keep your chin up babe, and stay as happy as you can under the circumstances.

Huia, I bet the cat was not camera shy.
It's great to know that Phil still recognises you, even though it may only be for a few minutes at a time, bless him.
I bet the photo of the rainbow in the spray, at the Hunua Falls looked lovely.
You have wonderful places over there, for any person who is interested in photography, or sight seeing.

Sallie, I know it's supposed to be a public holiday on Friday, for people to enjoy the wedding ceremony, but I wonder just how many folk have got to work regardless.
Some companies are bound to take liberties, and not pay overtime to their workers, if they are actually contracted to work on the day.
I have to admit, that being retired now for three years, things may have changed.

I wonder if Sylvia is o.k, as we haven't heard from her for a few days.

Lets hope that Joyce is coping with her daughters inquest result, and that we see her posting again soon.

A (((((((((((BIG HUG FOR JEAN,LINDA, MARIE, TESS, ANN, and any of our friends I have forgotten to mention.))))))))))))

I will pm you my e-mail addy Huia, I have seen some photos of the place where one of my old neighbours moved to years ago and it looks lovely, a lot like England.
Thanks for being pleased for me over my results, when I went in to get weighed the nurse said the *big boss man* has asked to see me, I thought it could be only two things but opted for the best one and I was right, I heard myself laughing for the first time last night, even oh looked up in surprise, lol.
As from teatime last night Joyce had had no news of the baby so I'm wondering if it is hanging on till the wedding day tomorrow, Joyces feet are so bad now she can't get her shoes on, poor love. I just wish something could be done for her about the cramps as well she is getting no sleep at all with it.
Mo I don't use patches as I am allergic to the plasters, I have tablets, thinking about it I should have had the first ones of the new course by now so speak later. I have also been wondering where Sylvia is, you miss people when they use to message evry day don't you.

Hi all,
Just two days left here, we go home on Saturday. Not really sorry to be missing all the hype re the wedding although keeping up with it by reading the D Mail whenw e go for coffee. (free papers provided). Hope you all had a good Easter.

Pleased to hear about the cancer results Caz and good job you have the morphine to help you cope.

Poor Joyce, I wonder if it is medication that is making her feet swell. BP meds and statins can both have that effect.

Yesterday was glorious here and so was this morning. this afternoon it is showery but hope the rain holds off this evening as we are going out to an outdoor bar where there is a good singer guitarist (sings in English as well as Spanish).

Loved your card on my blog Sallie.
