Hello, Marie, nice to hear from you, we are escaping again at the end of the month, dont want to be here when work is being done in the house.....lol...
seems odd taking a two week hol in November, but I dont care when it is as long as I dont have to put up with muck and rubble....how are you doing , is your singing hitting the high notes, its lovely to have a hobby you love.... how are your family getting on, the little one will be a big one now I think....

Mo, managed a look it was funny ...J got his undies back,I got my Nintendo, so all is well now...although going bonkers trying to find a paint colour for the walls, to go with cream units, so gang, get your thinking heads on and give me some colours, one wall, in your face colour, so far we have red, but fuddy duddy J isnt too sure ....bless....

Mo, I finally managed to look at all except one, of the pictures, I thought they were quite funny. I tried to pm you last night, but for some reason I couldn't send it, not sure if it was GR or my laptop. So tried adding to this thread, it wouldn't do that either. Goodness knows what the problem was.

Jean, pleased that you got your case back. I bet J is happy that he has got his underwear back too. Yes, I think red would look nice on the one wall, but you'll have to try and convince J of that--I know what it's like because I the same problem with Alun, Oh men!

Richard and Christie went back this evening. I had them all here for dinner again today--Jennie and Michael left the same time as them, and Alun has gone to the model railway club, so it's very quiet here now.

Anyway, I am going to make myself a nice cuppa and maybe do a bit of scrapping.

Hi All, thought I'd pop in to have a chat whilst I am stuck to the computer for the next hour or so catching up on bills to go out. Lovely running your own business until the paperwork has to be done - not my favourite thing.

Anyway, I've been on my walking course thismorning, a lovely country lanes walk in sunshine, though a bit nippy on the fingers now.

Huia, I hope that all is going ok with you. You go and have a good time safe in the knowledge that Phil is being very well cared for. You really do deserve some "You Time", if anyone does. Hope the eyes, sneezes and other niggles sort themselves out.
I need to PM Anne in Glos about accommodation in Jersey next year. Has anyone heard from her at all? I'll send her a message. I hope she is ok.

Well, the football last Sunday went the way I thought it would, Daniels team beat Matthews team 5-2. It was a very good game and both boys enjoyed it. Daniels team are a lot stronger though, and any other result would have been a surprise. Better that Daniel wins as Matthew can take a loss in his stride with more grace and dignity. Daniel doesn't like to lose (especially to his younger brother - at anything).

All well here, my Dad is still the same and has good and bad days, but he knows how to handle a bad day now and just takes the few hours he is up, very easily. Other days he can be found pottering around in the garden.

Sallie I am so glad your trip for your Brother went well. It sounded like a very enjoyable day. Congratulations to him for being so dedicated and committed.

Mo, not morbid talking about funerals. We haven't though that far ahead, but my parents certainly have and it is a thing which each and every one of us will have to face at some point. Hubby is going to the funeral on Tuesday of that poor Fisherman who drowned. That will be a very big service. He was only 66 with a wife and 3 daughters. Such a shame.

Anyway, got to get back to the mundane necessities of life. Take care everyone.

So glad that the football match went well. Well done to Daniel and also to Matthew for losing with dignity--he's a true sportsman.
Sorry to hear that your Dad is still having bad days, but as you say he knows how to handle them. Lets hope that he will soon have more good days than bad.

A big hello to our Marie from OZ. The jabs I was supposed to have were for the flu and for pneumonia. The pneumonia is a once in a life time injection,but the flu one,is given yearly to the over 65's,or if you are asthmatic or diabetic before that.
And as I don't come into any of the catagories,I was not allowed to have it.
Ah come on now everyone,.....Shame....
I hope you ane the family are all well.
Jean,because my kitchen is so small,I would not dare put red on even one wall. So we have gone for a shade of champagne. It is
darker than the champagne colour that we have ordered for the cupboards.
The units we have at the moments are pine coloured,and make the kitchen so dark.
So I am not much help to you I am afraid.
Sallie,I am not sure what I do wrong,when I forward things. When I received it,I only had to open the e.mail and it all appeared at once,not separately.
I also sent it to Jean,and I think she may have had problems with it as well. I shall have to get my daughter to show me again,how to do it.

My son has his own business as well,so I can understand what you have to go through.
What a shame that the boys had to play each other. One upmanship will
always come into it somewhere,especially where brothers are concerned.
My youngest,at 32 is still trying to keep up with his elder brother,even now.
I know that Ann is about,as I have seen her on other threads.
Such good news about your dad as well. He is bound to get tired out pretty quickly,but once they get his results,they should be able to sort him out properly.
It is so sad about the fisherman. But I am glad that they found him. At least the family have a place to go to remember him,in peace.

Hello everyone.
How are we all tonight.
I am fine Sallie,fed up of food shopping though. I wish someone would invent a pill,that we could take instead of the shopping and cooking we have to do.
And if we had disposable clothing,we would save the environment as well.
I know,I know, I am waffling agin,but I can dream.
Anyway,by the time it's all invented,I dare say that I will hardly care.
What has your weather been like today,where you all are.
It has been dry and bright here. I got a line full of washing dry,that was a bonus.

Hi all.

Phil was moved to the private hospital 2 days ago. Yesterday I went shopping in all the op shops to get him some Bob Charles type t shirts, which the hospital prefers, also looked for some track pants. He already had 2 pairs and I managed to get another pair but with winter almost over that was all I could find. He can have one of my pairs which is getting a bit thin, so at least he will have 4 pairs. When I got home (after lunch) I washed them all plus a few other things. Unfortunately I seem to have had a paper tissue among them and now there are little bits of white all over the (mostly) navy blue clothes so will have to brush them all down. At least the weather was good so got them almost dry. I now have to sew name tags on them all. That should keep me out of mischief today.

Hello Huia.
Is the private hospital that Phil is in,any nearer to you.
It sounds like the Bob Charles shirts,are what we call,Fred Perry. You can just pop them over the head,and they have about three buttons to the neck.
Also tracky bottoms,are easy to put on.
My friends husband,who had a stroke,has gone over to the same type of clothes. They are so much easier for him,and he is more independant,being able to dress himself.
I always wonder how those blessed tissues get into the washing.

Mo, you are not the only one fed up of food shopping. We couldn't go on Wednesday as we usually do, so have been today instead. I'm sure that the prices go up each week--Janet and I couldn't get over how much most things have gone up by, not just a few pence but by forty to fifty pence on quite a lot of things. My mother always use to say what you have just said Mo, about taking a pill, but my auntie would say that it would be very boring
and less interesting than having food.

Huia, will it be an easier journey for you to visit Phil now that he's moved to the private hospital? I hope so! I know what you mean about the paper tissue, it's so annoying -- there have been times when I've had to wash the clothes all over again.Hope your choir practice is going well, not sure when you said you go Rotorua.

Hi all popping in and out of threads as at sons looking after the children and plenty of distractions added to which just had a G&T & a glass of wine ( to toast daff's 12 month milestone you understand?) so please ignore any spelling mistakes. Have a bit of a problem with the 2 cats making me sneeze, never used to be allergic to them while we had a cat but our last one has been gone 3 years nearly now and these seem to affect me a lot,not long haired but very dense coats (British short hairs I think they are, lovely cats called fondant and Fancy, both rescue cats and they think mother and daughter.

huia,hope Phil settles OK in his new home, you don't say if it is further for you or not but I hope they look after him well.

The new hospital is probably a little further than the public one and I wont be able to get a train, but it is easy to drive there and park.

Yes, Mo, that is the type of shirt. I am now wondering if I couldnt have just stitched up the front of his ordinary shirts to within a couple of buttons of the top and remove the other buttons and cut the sleeves short. They might be a bit cooler than the knit ones. There is usually central heating in those places but then I suppose he might feel the cold more, being inactive. I am wondering about the track pants too, they will be hot, apart from my thin pair.

I received some info and forms from WINZ about applying for the living alone allowance and my superannuation has now gone up, while Phils has now gone - at least no more into our bank account.

I had a phone call from one of our local firemen asking where they could get my calendars as they were at the local calf club day and several people had asked for them so I took some along. They have been selling well in the local petrol station.

Morning All, thought I would pop in before that world that is my life, gets too wild on this Saturday. Loads to do with football and cross country, along with all the washing of school uniforms etc. At least still no rain so nothing is too muddy.

Huia, Congratulations on the success of your calendars. Quite a little enterprise you have going there. Will you venture into making cards or similar to keep you going through the year until the calendar season next year?

Good luck also with Phils move from one place to another. It sounds as though your idea of adapting his old shirts is a good one, and they would certainly be cooler, though they may not stretch quite as easily when he is putting them on. I don't know what his mobility is like. Those other type of shirts can be pulled a little to help the wearer get them on easier. Perhaps when the weather heats up could you buy him a pair of calf length trousers with an elesticated waist? They are cooler than track pants and still just as easy to get on.

All very well here at the moment. I took 3 of the children last night to watch "Grease" as performed by the boys' Secondary School. It was brilliant and I came away with that lovely warm feeling you get when you have had a fantastic evening. Even my children were humming the tunes as we came home. Hubby had a snooker match and eldest was fishing. I picked him up at 10.00pm.
