Huia, you are brave and very kind to help people that you don't know, just be careful and take care. I hope the Polytears are making your eyes feel better.

Mo, hope all is well with you and your family today. When are you having your new kitchen fitted? I know youv'e told us, but can't remember when you said. Just put it down to old age!

Ann, did you buy a Cuttle Bug not so long ago? If you did buy one, I was wondering if it's worth the money? I'm not sure whether to get one or not--
but it will be after Christmas now, if I decide to buy one.

We went to do our weekly food shopping earlier on, so I'm now going to do some scrapping.

Speak to you all tomorrow.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hi Sallie.
Still have not got a definate date from my son,for the kitchen fit.
I am getting a bit fed up of it now. I will be glad when I get get the kitchen back to normal.
At least when Jean gets back, hers will all be done, lucky thing.
We are fine. Our son had to work till 8 tonight. So it has been another peaceful day.

Yes I did buy a Cuttlebug. If you do a lot of embossing of cards it would be useful. I wanted it to make die cuts but they are not making many dies these days. I like the flowers I can make and the butterflies but I suspect a few good punches would do the same job. Not sure it is entirely worth the money.

Just a very quick hello to all, nice to catch up on what you are all up to, and yes Marilyn, see you for that coffee after Christmas.

Huia, hope your eyes are better soon and you don't get too many strangers calling, it is so hard to know who to trust these days but I am sure you are careful, just don't leave the doors unlocked, especially if you are airing bits of you lol
I get the problem under my boobs too, so uncomfy.

I haven't started on Christmas cards yet and have o.h. on my back about other things, also having to think twice about what to buy with him being diagnosed with diabetes, life is such fun Not!!!! lol

Went to a booksigning last evening with Gordon Smith the Glasgow barber medium, he is so nice and gave an interesting talk first. I got a book - my second written by him - it's called Why do bad things happen? and he signed it for me. Didn't know that he is doing a show tonight or I would have put the £4 of the booksigning evening towards going there instead but it's £20 and I can't afford that besides which I have arranged to meet my son and see the christmas lights go on in one of our malls. They have Stavros Flatley from Britain's got talent on there and Eoghan Quigg as well so might be fun and can spend an hour or two with my lad, who is very low at the mo. He can't find a better job and is struggling financially so gets fed up that he can't go out with his mates often, most of them live at home so don't have as much to pay out as he does. It was his choice to leave home and he has flat in a nice location which is pretty secure tenancy wise, as with a Housing association, but he can't seem to manage and doesn't earn a lot, even tho he has a part time job on Saturday afternoons too.
Better get to bed, look at the time!!

take care all,
love

You and I would make a great pair, Liz, you airing your boobs, me my boobs and other things! The thought of it makes me shudder. I would pull the curtains first though, just in case anybody came onto the verandah and looked in. I do keep all the doors locked all the time.

I visited Phil today. He was asleep when I went in, mouth wide open, looking ghastly, but when he woke he looked much better. I asked if he knew who I was and he was obviously struggling to think so the nurse said 'its your wife' and he continued to think then said 'the noisy one'. I wonder how many wives he thinks he has? But at least he seemed to remember me to some extent, even if he didnt say 'Tub' or 'the old crow'. He took himself for a walk across the room to the dining room, much better than he had been last time. Our son is coming up tomorrow night so he is going to visit on Saturday and I might go with him. I need to go to town tomorrow to buy Phil some summer pyjamas. He had 4 pairs his mother bought him almost 50 yrs ago but he didnt wear them much and they are just decaying from age. Pity, it would have saved a lot of money. Still, having spent so much on 2 blouses for myself I cant complain at spending money on clothes for Phil, now can I?

Huia.

Hello Girls,

Well, it's nice to see you back Liz, we've missed you while you've been away. I hope you enjoyed yourself with your son this evening, watching the Christmas lights being switched on. I hadn't heard of Gordon Smith until now? Have you started reading his new book yet?

Huia, pleased that Phil was a lot better yesterday than when you last visited him. I'm sure it makes you feel a bit easier when you leave the hospital at the end of your visit. It will be nice to see your son when he arrives, he will be company for you and it's also nice to have his support.
Hope you managed to get some pyjamas for Pil, when you went into town.

Ann, I'm going to have a good think about the Cuttlebug, thank you giving your opinion. It's so easy to spend the money on something that looks good, and then to find out it isn't exactly what you needed. Not sure what I could have instead, though!

Mo, I'm sorry that you still don't know when you are having your kitchen fitted. It would be nice if it was all done in time for Christmas, though.
Richard is working until seven this week--not too happy about that, he much prefers to work the early shift. Still, with it getting near Christmas, they have a late shift, so that all the work can get done.

I'm thinking about poor Jean and J, the weather forecast for tomorrow is awful, lets hope it'll dry up for their journey home on Saturday. It'll be nice to hear from Jean, after two weeks away.

Thinking of Debbie, Marie, Sue, Marilyn and Grace.

Take care!

Love and best wishes to everyone. Sallie.xxx

Evening all.
Good to hear from you all.
Ann,I remember now about Karen Carpenters death. I think I saw a programme about her life on the t.v. It was such a shame,to lose such a talent. They made such beautiful music between them. Did Richard carry on singing after her death.
Sorry Huia,I did not mean to sound as I probably did, when you mentioned about opening your door. I apologise if I offended you.
Hi Liz. You are a proper night owl arn't you. At the time you posted I had been in bed six hours.
Mind you,I have the bed to myself,as my OH snores and has his own room
At times I can hear his snores through the wall,so I am grateful for my own room.
Hello Sallie my lovely.
It's a bit of a nuisance when the boys have to work later, isn't it. Especially
when it comes to the dinners.
Our son has got to work till 10.00p.m next thursday. As the shop has a sale on.
I was able to go shopping on my own today, luxury. No Roly hanging around saying "have we finished yet".
I was looking for more christmas presents, but could not find what I was looking for.
So I spent longer up town, with my friends having coffee, and chatting.
I cant do that when I have Roly with me,he's not interested in girlie talk.
Is it tommorrow or saturday that Jean and J go home.
Bye for now. Take care. Love Mo xxx

Sallie, can I suggest you put a post on both the scrapbooking thread and the birthday girls thread. Someone there may have a suggestion of what to buy.

Why not a selection of large punches. I rather fancy the 'nesting punches (nestabilities do circles and squares that fit inside each other.) Then there is a new punch out, not sure what it is called but it has squares of different sizes that you can build up to form a design. Look on some of the web sites for ideas.

Hello to you all, remember me Marie,LOL I have read all the posts and yes we are having a hot spell and what a shock for some of the plants in the garden,I have been busy laying suger cane mulch to try and keep the moisture in the ground, the weather forcast for the weekend is for HOTTTT.Well this lady is rather tired . Barbara does her last exam for the year on Tuesday YIPPEE I may get a little time for myself which would be lovely. Sebastian has finished also and got Early entry to the University here in Bathurst. Barbara got a High Distinction for one of her assignments, she is such a smart cookie for a lass who struggled in primary school,She is also a good artist (Painting and Photography )
I have bought a few presents for Xmas but I havent done any cards I used to be so good with the cards they would have all been written and the overseas ones ready for posting but the last 2 yrs.I really havent felt like doing any, must be getting old.
To all of you I hope to be able to post more often in the next few weeks.
Talking about Karen Carpenter she had a truly great voice,I loved to listern to her, nearly all singers have a break in their voice from their Lower register to the Higher register Karen didnt have that break truly a flawless voice. It is now 10-15 Pm daylight saving time, and time I was in bed.Almost forgot, Mo I do hope you son finds the time to do your kitchen before Xmas. Ann, Sallie,Deborah,Huia Marilyn Liz and Mo. Hello Marie, good to see you. Pleased that the exams are almost finished. then you can start on Christmas.

To those of you who have a 'clutter' problem in your house. Take a look at Daff's thread and the first post from Blue Moon. It is hilarious and now has pride of place in my kitchen!!!

Hello folks, how are we all today.
Marie,it's lovely to hear from you.
I wish you could send some of your warmth over to us,it's really wet and windy at this end of the world.
There has been a lot of flooding here in Kent, but fortunately not where we
live.
It must be so awful for all the poor people that get flooded out,on a regular basis.
We have a village near to us,called Yalding, and it is built on a flood plain.
And every time we have heavy rain, the river overflows.
It will be nice to hear from you,on a regular basis. And now that most of the exams have been completed, you will be a lady of leisure again.
Hello Sallie,Ann,Huia,Liz,Debbie,Marilyn and all our friends on here.
Love and best wishes. Mo xxx

Hello everyone, we came back early this morning, we didnt have much rain except for one Sunday it teemed down, it is a temperate climate so never too bad, , I was glad I took the card stuff, managed to make about 50 cards, not that I send that many I just got carried away, and came across a fairly new Craft store , it is amazing, quite big, and selling bulk packs of card and papers, loads of scrapbook stuff, hundreds of peel offs, it was great. and available on line too.....
the kitchen is finally finished, well nearly, still having to paint the walls, we have spent all day, cleaning every last thing, there was dust in every room !!!
we had phone calls every day from D and she sent pictures, all sorts of things went wrong, they sent the wrong handles, no underneath lights, many little silly mistakes, but all sorted, the worst part is washing all the stuff ready to go back in the units, but it is looking nice J cant get used to it, we had wood ones before, now they are cream..... the inner fitments are marvellous, just right for D and I, to use very disable friendly, ....

so how are things with all of you.I read some of the previous pages and you all seem to be busy as usual. I did miss you , and would have loved to chat with you all. still better late than never...I am going to have something to eat now so will chat later,

much love Jean xx

Oooooooh Jeanieee you are back hooray.
We have missed you soooo much.
I am glad the weather wasn't as bad as I had suspected it to be.
Do you feel relaxed now. Apart from doing the clearing up,after the workmen.
It amazes me,how they can make mistakes on such things as door handles, because you chose them yourselves, and that should have been written down.
It's surprising how the dust collects isn't it.
Anyway,I will let you get on now. Speak to you again soon.
Love to you and J. Mo xxx

Hello everybody.
I have been following Ann's thread, wow hot stuff Ann.
What has your day been like today. It's been shocking here, yet again.
We got blown to bits this morning, whilst shopping. I was so glad to get home.
Who's been watching strictly come dancing then. I see Anton Dubeck and his partner got the sympathy vote.
What are your opinions on the voting.
Sorry Marie and Huia, this a programme being shown over here at the moment.
Will do catch up on X Factor tommorrow.
Hi Jean, are you nearly straight yet.

MO, thats all right, we have had Dancing with the Stars over here so I know what it is about. I cant say I watched much of it, I didnt watch a lot of TV while I had Phil to look after (apart from the news and, of course, Coro St!) and I dont seem to watch a lot now, I am losing interest. I would sooner be on here.

Huia, our t.v is on,and my OH is watching it,so it's background noise. But I tend watch it out of the corner of my eye,if it's something I am interested in.
And as I love dancing,I like to make comparisons, and imagine it's me up there dancing. As if. LOL
